Values Led School
ingfield’s Values Based Education
Last year, as many of you may be aware, in consultation with the children, we extended our core 3 R’s of Respect, Resilience and Relationships to include a further twelve key values. These are:
We believe that these, as well as enhancing our pupils’ academic achievement, help to develop our children’s social and relationship skills to last throughout their lives.
Each September we start our academic year reinforcing our three core values. Throughout the remainder of the year, we follow a monthly rolling plan exploring a value related to each of our three core values which guides thinking and behaviour. A programme of whole school assemblies and in-class and key stage collective worship introduce and explore each value.
We hope that our new monthly values webpage help you to talk about each focus positive value with your child. As well as encouraging home-school partnerships, this will help you as a parent/carer to be engaged with the learning that is happening in school. It is also extremely valuable for children to talk about what values mean at home and bring their own opinions, thoughts and reflections into school to share with others. We hope that the content will spark some interesting conversations in your families.
We would love to hear what you think.
