Science – Miss Bunyan & Mrs Pirie

In Science Clubs we will be getting hands on with science in imaginative and stimulating ways! During the club, the children watch some experiments and join in with some spectacular demonstrations, participate in enquiry-based discussions and take home things that they have made themselves like model rockets, periscopes, slime and more! The one-hour science sessions are themed around a particular area of science and include very many and varied topics such as electricity, optics, space, the weather, machines and many more. We hope to see lots of keen scientists there!

Knitting – Mrs Peters

We will be learning how to knit and purl, cast on and cast off and hope to end up with a Christmas decoration to put on the tree!

Art & Craft – Mrs Sutton

In craft club we will be using a range of materials to create interesting small craft items in a creative way. The children will be showing partnerships by helping each other to develop their skills with a purpose in mind.

Drama – Miss Handscomb

At drama club the aim is to develop confidence, team work and performance skills through fun and exciting activities. Using a mixture of games and individual or group tasks, we focus on improving vocal skills, the use of facial expressions, body language and movement to create interesting and unusual characters and tell exciting stories. Drama club is all about joining in and having fun!

Cooking – Miss Bryant

In cooking club this term, we will be making a range of different foods from countries all around the world. We believe that cooking is a core life skill and therefore will be focusing on the main skills and techniques that can be applied to different dishes. We will be preparing and cooking healthy meals or snacks from scratch every week.

Chess – Mrs Paisey

Chess has many educational benefits, giving children intellectual capital and transferable skills such as focus, discipline, concentration, spatial awareness and strategic thinking. We encourage children to come along and have a go. Children with any level of experience are welcome - from absolute beginner to grand master!

Choir – Rock & Pop

Hot off the success of their triumphant assembly performance , the Lingfield Choir is calling out for more voices!  If you have a passion for singing, a love of performance or just want to meet some great new people and be part of the fun, come and get involved.  From old classics to modern smash hits, if you can hum it, we will sing it!

Band – Rock & Pop

The Rock and Pop Foundation are proud to present Band Club at Lingfield Primary.  Have a passion for music? Ever wanted to learn an instrument?  If the answer is yes then this is the club for you.  Drums, guitar, keyboards and singing are just a few of the skills we will be developing as we look towards live performances later this year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where should I collect my child from when their club has finished?
The collection point for all clubs is the main children’s entrance. Please wait outside the main doors for a member of staff to allow access to all parents at the appropriate time.

How do I know if my child’s club has been cancelled?
Where we know in advance that a club will need to be cancelled (i.e. Parents’ Evenings), your child will be informed by the club organiser the week before.

In the case of bad weather, it is usual for the children to remain at school until the finish time for the club. Occasionally, it may be that we have to send children home, in which case we will send a message out using the school app.  The school app is a free app and is available from your app store search for Lingfield Primary School, you will recognise our school logo.

My child has now decided that they would like to take part in a club. Can I add their name to the list?
We try to offer places to all the children that would like to take part in a club.  In the first instance please contact the school office, if there are places available they will add your child's to the list for that club.  If a club is full we will do our best to find additional staff so that everyone can be accommodated.

Where do I collect my child at the end of their club?
The collection point is outside the Main Children’s Entrance.
