Parents' Evenings

We hold face-to-face Parents’ Evenings each term to give parents and carers the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress, learning and wellbeing in school. These meetings form an important part of the strong partnership we value between home and school in supporting every child to achieve their personal best.

Dates are communicated through the school app and appointments are booked using School Gateway.

Each term, we usually offer two evenings to help accommodate different working patterns and family commitments:

  • an early session from 3:30pm to 6:00pm
  • a later session from 5:00pm to 7:30pm

In the summer term, parents and carers also receive a written report from the class teacher. This report provides information about your child’s effort and attainment across subjects, as well as their general presentation and approach to learning. Parents and carers are then offered the opportunity to meet with the class teacher to discuss the report and reflect on their child’s progress over the year.

Appointments are 10 minutes long. If a longer discussion is needed, a follow-up meeting can be arranged directly with your child’s teacher.

Where possible, we encourage parents and carers to attend the meeting together. However, we understand that in some circumstances separate meetings may be required. If you are unable to attend either of the evenings offered, please contact the class teacher to arrange an alternative appointment.

On some occasions, a member of the Senior Leadership Team may also attend the meeting to support discussions about pupils’ progress and development.
