Phones in School

Children are not permitted to have a mobile phone at school.

If it is vital to their safety walking to or from school in Year 5 or 6, it must be brought to the classroom (turned off) at the start of the school day where it is placed in an individual phone storage bag provided until the end of the day (at the owner’s risk).

The phones are stored in the main office during the school day.

Phones must be switched off (not silenced or muted) as children enter the school gate.

School staff have signed an acceptable user agreement to enable appropriate use of their phones during the school day. This includes recording medical incidents, recording incidents on CPOMs and accessing work emails.

Visitors are asked not to use their phones on the school premesis unless doing so in a professional capacity that does not in any way contravene the school's safeguarding duties.

Phones are permitted during exhibitions and at school performances as staff are present to safeguard children and we trust parents to not share images of other children. Parents are reminded at each event not to share any images of children that are not their own children on any social media platform.
