Pupil Leaders
Part of our school vision at Lingfield is to set high aspirations for our pupils. To this aim, we provide a range of opportunities for children to practise key leadership skills alongside developing a greater sense of responsibility and trust all of which will set them up well for the future.
Each class has a representative who forms our School Council. These children help to organise fundraising, develop our school and are role models to the whole school community.
As out children move up the school into Upper Key Stage 2, we have a range or leadership roles available, including: House Captains, Librarians, Art Leaders, PE Leaders, MFL Leaders, Computing Leaders, Site Team and Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.
For some of our pupil leadership positions, individuals are elected by their peers through a democratic process. Others require children to apply for posts through a written letter of application, giving a presentation or going through an interview process.
These positions are considered a privilege and our pupil leaders recognise the importance of reflecting our school values of Respect, Resilience and Relationships within their leadership role. Our House Captains are involved in leading school tours to prospective parents, supporting learning in younger year groups and promoting our Personal Best ethos around school.
There are four houses at Lingfield Primary School: Oak, Yew, Beech and Ash.
The houses are named after local trees, all of which we have on the school site. The leaves of the four trees are incorporated into the school badge.
Each house has a dedicated colour and a pair of Y6 House Captains.
