The Thrive Approach
Thrive offers a trauma-informed, whole school approach to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
We have a dedicated Thrive practitioner on staff who works to bridge interrupted learning and support social/emotional development.
The Thrive Approach is based on four key disciplines:
- Established research in neuroscience
- Attachment research
- Child development theory
- Research into the role of play, creativity and the arts
The Thrive Approach underpins our approach to understanding and managing behaviour. The Vital Relational Functions (VRFs) provide strategies to support children in times of need. The VRFs have close links to Dr Dan Hughes' PACE model and allow for attunement, validation, containment and regulation of emotion.
