Support for Families: Workshops
Over the year, we run and host a number of workshops to support families.
Hayley Stoner - Toddler and Parent Coach
Our school is delighted to offer Parent Coaching talks in 2024 with Hayley Stoner.
Last year, Parent Coach Hayley's expert advice on toddlers was extremely popular, so we have planned new dates for 2024. Hayley runs a local parent coaching service called Little Ones at Home specialising in toddler behaviour, baby and toddler sleep and potty training.
As well as being qualified in child development, certified in sleep coaching and rated “outstanding” by Ofsted for her work with children and families, she has over twenty years of experience in the field.
Her mission is to inspire parents to share challenges, feel supported, and have good research-based information to make confident decisions that will empower them to find joy in parenting and meet their personal parenting goals.
Natalie Hadleigh - SENCO
Natalie Hadleigh, our SENCO, will be running a number of coffee mornings for parents to drop in and discuss SEND, provision, support arrangements and inclusion.
Andrew Winter - Designated Safeguarding Lead
Andrew Winter, the school's DSL and behaviour lead, will be running drop-in sessions for parents and carers to come in and discuss all aspects of behaviour: attachment theory, why unwanted behaviour might happen, how it can be de-escalated, the importance of clear boundaries/consequences and external support for families.
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for showing an interest in attending behaviour workshops run by the school. I am pleased to say that we now have dates in the school diary for these:
Wednesday March 19th 2025, 3.30pm to 5.00pm = Session 1 = What can drive behaviour, the importance of clear boundary setting and developmental milestones in behaviour
Thursday May 22nd 2025, 2.00pm to 3.30pm = Session 2 = Strategies for managing low-level behaviour and challenging behaviour
Tuesday June 24th 2025, 9.00am to 10.30am = Session 3 = Developing emotional resilience in children and the growing world of technology
The purpose of the sessions is sharing the school's approaches in this difficult area, sharing good practice based on research and reflecting on the fact that no one approach will work for every child. They are not about specific incidents but about sharing the vast experience we have working with children of all ages and talking openly about effective, evidence-informed strategies.
So we can prepare resources, we ask that parents indicate if they are attending using the google form below:
